Cancellation of CNE

International Conference 2020, Dublin

20th March 2020: Statement from the conference organisers

Following much consideration, Cystinosis Network Europe (CNE) and Cystinosis Ireland have decided to cancel the International Cystinosis Conference planned for Dublin in July 2020 due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19.

Our community is a vulnerable one and we have taken this decision to protect our loved ones, our extended families, or clinicians and researchers.

We are planning to run a Virtual International Cystinosis Conference online on Saturday 11th July 2020.  Our plans are to make this virtual conference as widely and easily accessible as possible.  We will soon survey families, clinicians and researchers about the topics and content you would like to have presented.  More details will follow and we will keep you updated regularly.

We know this is a difficult time for our community and we are all concerned about our loved ones.  You will all be well aware by now of the protections you can take with careful hand washing and social distancing to reduce the risks.

We look forward to virtually welcoming you to the International Cystinosis Conference hosted by Cystinosis Ireland on behalf of CNE on 11th July.

Please contact denise.dunne@cystinosis-europe.eu if you have any queries about the cancellation or the virtual conference.

Cead Mile Failte! Welcome!

We look forward to welcoming you to Dublin for the CNE International Conference. We are planning a lively and engaging agenda with doctors and researchers presenting research and best practice in cystinosis.  The conference will also give people living with cystinosis the vital opportunity to meet with their peers, exchange and learn from each other and our experts, and to share their lives and experiences with the health and research professionals who will attend.

You can find registration details on this page, and hotel details on this page.

We are delighted to confirm that we will have daytime childcare and language interpretation services for the conference to ensure everyone attending is able to make the most of their visit.

We look forward to seeing you in Dublin, from 10th to 12th July 2020

The challenge

People living with cystinosis and their families, will come to Dublin to meet each other, clinicians and researchers.

Clinicians and researchers can meet cystinosis patients and get a real-life understanding of the implications of the disease.

Exchanging ideas creates a better understanding of cystinosis.

The agenda

The agenda offers something for everybody  – whether children, adolescents, adults, parents, doctors and researchers.  You can find the draft agenda here.  We are planning sessions for young people, adults, families, parents and our research and medical colleagues.  There will also be time to catch up with friends and to take part in the social programme!

The 6th Annual Dublin Cystinosis Workshop will be held on 9th July for researchers, clinicians and other healthcare professionals.  More details here.

The location - Dublin

We are looking forward to offering you a cead mile failte in Dublin in July!  We have selected beautiful family friendly hotel beside the sea with great transport links to the airport, city centre, and all the sightseeing and travel opportunities you could enjoy.

Without funding and donations this conference could never take place.
We would like to thank all our supporters.
